If you’re able, plan to avoid driving on the upper West Seattle Bridge in the wee hours, next Tuesday/Wednesday (Aug 28/29). Starting at 1 AM and wrapping before 7 AM August 29, our paint trucks will be in action. It’s a moving operation, so no closures involved; instead two paint trucks and back-up follow trucks will help precisely place the wet paint.
NOTE: It’s illegal to cross the newly placed lines!
UPDATE: Our crews will also be lining up Aurora (SR 99)
next Thursday/Friday, overnight , from E Marginal Way near the Boeing Access Road, all the way up to the City line at NE 145th St. That striping work starts at midnight August 30, and concludes before 7 AM, August 31. Aurora gets her stripes another day…TBD.
Again, if possible, avoid driving in these areas during panting overnight, next Tuesday/Wednesday
and Thursday/Friday. That will go a long way in reducing paint tracking and maintaining clear markings!
FYI, the work is weather dependent—water colors just don’t have the same staying power. 😉 It’s this artist’s perspective calling for the Aurora striping reschedule…so, maybe use a bumbershoot as we await dry painting weather.
