SDOT advises travelers of a closure underway of the westbound direction of S Cloverdale St between Martin Luther King Jr Way S and Beacon Ave S that began on Monday, January 15. The westbound closure is expected to be in place for up to 2 months, with work in the area expected to continue through April 2018, weather permitting.
For the next two months, approximately, travelers can expect:
- Westbound S Cloverdale St will be closed to traffic between Martin Luther King Jr Way S and Beacon Ave S
- Westbound drivers should follow a signed detour to S Graham St
- Eastbound traffic on S Cloverdale St will remain open
- Access will be maintained to homes on the north and south sides of S Cloverdale St even though the westbound lane will be closed
This construction is part of the Wing Luke Elementary and Van Asselt Elementary Safe Routes to School Project, which includes new sidewalk, curb ramps, and planting strips along S Cloverdale St and 37th Ave S. The westbound closure is required due to the narrow width of the street. Please visit the project webpage at www.seattle.gov/transportation/SafeRoutesWingLuke.htm for more information and to sign up for construction email updates.
