SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of the following events happening in the city that may affect traffic. Bumbershoot begins Friday and runs through Sunday at Seattle Center. PAX starts Friday and runs through Memorial Day at the Washington State Convention Center. The Mariners play at Safeco Field Friday through Monday, Labor Day. City offices are closed Labor Day and on-street paid parking is free Monday, September 4. Please enjoy a safe holiday weekend wherever your travels take you.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3:
Bumbershoot Festival at Seattle Center, hours are 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily. About 35,000 people are expected to attend each day.
FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 – MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 4:
PAX WEST is at the Washington State Convention Center. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday. 9th Ave will be closed between Pine St and Pike St during the convention. About 25,000 people are expected to attend each day.
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd:
South Lake Union Saturday Market will close 9th Ave N between Denny Way and John St. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. About 1,000 people are expected to attend.
- Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Friday, September 1 at 7:10 p.m. About 25,000 people are expected.
- Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Saturday, September 2 at 6:10 p.m. About 30,000 people are expected.
- Seattle Mariners vs. Oakland, Sunday, September 3 at 1:10 p.m. About 30,000 people are expected.
- Seattle Mariners vs. Houston Monday, September 4 at 3:30 p.m. About 32,000 people are expected.
