SDOT advises travelers that starting Monday, November 7, and lasting until early spring 2017, the left lane of Fourth Avenue S between S Washington and Jefferson streets will be fully closed as part of the Yesler Bridge Rehabilitation Project.
From Monday, November 7 to early spring 2017, travelers can expect:
• The left lane on Fourth Ave S to be closed between S Washington and Jefferson streets.
• The center lane on Fourth Avenue S will also be closed between S Washington and Jefferson streets from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Pedestrians will be detoured to the sidewalk on the east side of Fourth Avenue S.
• Travel lanes on the east side of Fourth Ave S will remain open; vehicles, buses, and bicycles are advised to use caution near the work zone.
The lane closures enable crews to replace the Yesler Bridge with a seismically improved structure. This work will improve the safety and reliability of Yesler Bridge while preserving its historical elements. SDOT appreciates the public’s patience while this work is being done.
