SDOT advises travelers to be aware of the following events happening around the city through the weekend that will affect area traffic. The Seattle Mariners have a day game at Safeco Field on Wednesday with thousands of students attending Mariners weather education programs before the game. The Mariners also have a home stand series this weekend. Selena Gomez will be in concert Sunday night at KeyArena.
WEDNESDAY, MAY 11th:
Seattle Mariners Weather Education Day: More than 4,000 students from around the state will attend pre-game weather education programs followed by the 12:40 p.m. Mariners game against the Tampa Bay Rays. School buses will stage on S Massachusetts St between Utah Ave S and Colorado Ave S from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Link Up: Seattle Symphony Concert: Two student performances with the Seattle Symphony at Benaroya Hall. Buses will stage on 1st and 2nd avenues between Seneca and University streets and Seneca, University and Union streets between 1st and 3rd avenues from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. About 4,000 will students attend.
FRIDAY, MAY 13th:
Selena Gomez Concert: Selena Gomez brings her “Revival Tour” concert to KeyArena. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. About 8,500 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, MAY 15th:
Nordstrom Beat the Bridge Run: The 34th annual 8K run and 3 mile walk will start on Montlake Blvd and finish at Husky Stadium. Montlake Blvd closes to traffic at 7:30 a.m. Runners cross the Montlake Bridge southbound, turn west on E Roanoke to E Lynn St, continue west around Portage Bay on Boyer Ave E to Fuhrman Ave E and then to the University Bridge which goes up at 8:50 a.m. for 5 minutes. Runners return to Husky Stadium Field on NE Pacific St. About 8,500 people are expected to participate.
Seattle Mariners vs. Tampa Bay, Tuesday, May 10th at 7:10 p.m. About 15,000 people expected to attend.
Seattle Mariners vs Tampa Bay, Wednesday, May 11th at 12:40 p.m. About 22,000 people expect to attend.
Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles, Friday, May 13th at 7:10 p.m. About 32,000 people expected to attend.
Seattle Mariners vs Los Angeles, Saturday, May 14th at 6:10 p.m. About 36,000 people expected to attend.
