SDOT is advising travelers to be aware of events happening around the city through the weekend. There are concerts at KeyArena on Wednesday and Thursday. There are several St. Patrick’s Day-related events happening that will have traffic impacts.
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 9th:
Justin Bieber Concert: Justin Bieber kicks off his Purpose World Tour at KeyArena at 7:30 p.m. About 12,000 people are expected to attend.
THURDAY, MARCH 10th:
TobyMac Concert: TobyMac and guest artists bring their Hits Deep Tour performance to KeyArena at 7 p.m. About 9,000 people are expected to attend.
FRIDAY, MARCH 11th:
Oromo Community Rally: About 400 people are expected to march for human rights in opposition of the Ethiopian government from Pratt Park, 20th Ave and S Jackson St, to the Federal Building on 2nd Ave and Marion St. The march starts at 2 p.m. on 20th Ave, turns west on S Jackson St, north on 4th Ave S, west on Madison St and south on 2nd Ave to Marion St. A rally at the Federal Building plaza starts at 3 p.m.
This mini-parade will travel down 4th Ave. (between S. Washington and Pine streets) while they mark the route of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 7:00 p.m. and last about an hour.
SATURDAY MARCH 12th:
On Saturday March 12, about 4,700 people are expected at the parade that starts at 12:30 p.m. The parade begins at 12:20 p.m. followed by the parade on 4th Avenue to Westlake Park at Pine St. 4th Avenue will be closed from S. Washington St. to Pine St. from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. About 4,700 people are expected to attend.
SUNDAY, MARCH 13th:
St. Patrick’s Day Dash: About 10,000 people are expected to participate. The 5K Dash starts and finishes at the Seattle Center and winds downtown on 4th Ave, then turning back at Seneca St. for a post-dash celebration at the Seattle Center. Streets will be closed between 5 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
