King County Metro Transit
Metro riders and Seafair fans are reminded that, from Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, Metro Transit service will be delayed or rerouted during Seafair Hydroplane and Air Show events in south Seattle and along the I-90 corridor. Metro will also operate shuttle service for the Hydroplane events.
Free Hydro Shuttle
From Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2, Metro will operate a free shuttle between the Columbia City Link light rail station and Genesee Park.
Board the shuttle eastbound on S Angeline St just west of 32nd Av S. It will operate frequently, as buses fill:
– Friday, July 31 – 7:00 AM-6:00 PM
– Saturday, August 1 – 7:00 AM-Approximately 7:00 PM
– Sunday, August 2 – 7:00 AM-6:00 PM
Metro Route 50 will be rerouted during this time.
Air Show I-90 closures & Shuttles
During the Seafair Air Show practices and performances on
– Thursday, July 30 – 9:45 AM-Noon & 1:15-2:40 PM, and
– Friday, Saturday & Sunday, July 31-August 2 – 11:50 AM-2:40 PM each day,
the I-90 Bridge will be closed.
During these times, Sound Transit routes 550 and 554 will be rerouted via SR-520 and will not serve stops on I-90 at Rainier Av S and Mercer Island.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 30-August 1, Metro will operate a shuttle every 30 minutes between the Mercer Island and South Bellevue P&R lots to connect transit customers with Sound Transit routes 550 or 554 during the I-90 Bridge closure.
A regular fare is required on the Mercer Island Shuttle.
The Mercer Island shuttle will not operate on Sunday.
