It’s another big-time, Seafair weekend. Following last week’s Torchlight Parade, this will be the weekend for the traditional Seafair hydroplane races and the Blue Angels air show, closing I-90 at times and closing Lake Washington Boulevard South along Lake Washington. Also on this weekend’s agenda are the annual Seafair events in Magnolia, Central Area, and Lake City — all reasons for planning your trips around town to avoid delays. (For public transit and parking information to get to the hydroplane races, see http://tinyurl.com/mqn7mjj.)
There is a Beyoncé and Jay-Z concert tonight (Wednesday), a wild and crazy bicycle festival in Georgetown on Friday night, and an art street fair in the Pioneer Square area on Saturday.
As always, taking public transit is a preferred way to get around. Check schedules and any “Rider Alerts” in advance. http://metro.kingcounty.gov/alerts/
There is no better time of year to walk or take a bike to your destination, possibly in combination with public transit, and reap the benefits of exercise and enjoyment in addition to getting there.
