The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has canceled the previously announced weekend closure of eastbound Mercer Street between Dexter Avenue N and Ninth Avenue N due to inclement weather. More information will follow as the work is rescheduled.
Please note, the weekend work at the intersection of Queen Anne Avenue N and Roy Street will still occur.
From Saturday, April 5 at 4:00 a.m. through Monday, April 7 at 5:00 a.m., access to northbound Queen Anne Avenue N will be fully closed to traffic between Roy and Valley streets to accommodate signal pole installations and sidewalk work. During the closure:
- Access to northbound Queen Anne Avenue N will be closed to traffic from Roy Street. Travelers heading north from westbound Roy Street will be detoured onto southbound Queen Anne Avenue N and then right onto Mercer Street to proceed north on Second Avenue W. To access Queen Anne from downtown, travelers should use westbound Mercer Street to Second Avenue W.
- Southbound Queen Anne Avenue N will be reduced to one lane between Valley and Roy streets. One lane of southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.
- Eastbound Roy Street approaching Queen Anne Avenue N will be closed at First Avenue W. Travelers using eastbound Roy Street to reach Queen Anne Avenue N will be directed south on First Avenue W down to Mercer Street.
- Uniformed police officers will be present to facilitate traffic flow around the work zone.
Early warning signs will be available in advance of all detours. More information about alternate routes during construction may be found at: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/mercercorridor.htm.
