This weekend’s events will keep thousands of feet in action. With players bounding back and forth between hoops, the PAC 12 Women’s Basketball Tournament continues through Sunday at the Key Arena. Saturday highlights two International Women’s Day marches; and also green-scarved fans marching from a rally at Pioneer Square to CenturyLink Field where Seattle’s Sounders will be running and kicking for a win in their season home opening match against Sporting Kansas City. Sunday morning Daylight Saving Time kicks in and 1,800 firefighters from around the world will race up the stairs of the 69 floor Columbia Center in the 23rd Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb,a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Expect heavier traffic on the Mercer Street before and after the performance.
Saturday, March 8:
Vital Voices Mentoring walk: 10:45 a.m.
March on sidewalks in the international District/Chinatown and Japan Town.
Walk will not be in the streets, but may be a distraction for motorists. Seattle Police will accompany walkers.

International Women’s Day March and Rally: 12 Noon to 1 P.m.
Pratt Park – assembly area
March route: Starts at Pratt Park (1800 S Main Street) , heads southbound on 20TH Avenue S; west on S Jackson Street, south on Maynard Avenue S to Hing Hay Park (Maynard Avenue S and S King Street). Seattle Police will escort the march. Drivers can expect a rolling slowdown as the march makes its way along the streets from one park to the other park.
Seattle Sounders vs the Sporting Kansas City: 12 Noon – 2:30 p.m.
Expect congestion on streets adjacent to the stadium before and after the match.
Sunday, March 9
23RD Annual Scott Firefighter Stairclimb: 8:30

N 80th Street is closed between Aurora Avenue N and Greenwood Avenue N for a repaving project.
Eastbound N105th Street is closed between Aurora Avenue N and Meridian Avenue N 85th for four months.
Lane closures have begun on First Avenue S between S Atlantic Street and Railroad Way S while Seattle City Light crews install a new underground electrical duct bank. Work is expected to last five months.
The Washington State Department of Transportation will closed up to three lanes of the northbound I-5 Collector-Distributor lanes north of the I-90 on-ramp and the Seneca Street exit will be closed Friday night to Monday morning. The S Dearborn Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 will also be closed.
