Weekend work at Capitol Hill Station site
This weekend Sound Transit’s contractors will install soldier piles at the site on the west side of Broadway, south of Denny Way. In order to complete this work safely, the Metro bus overhead trolley wires will need to be de-energized temporarily. Bus service will not be interrupted. Diesel buses will run on Broadway this weekend. The trolley wires will be re-energized Sunday and trolley bus service will return Monday January 20.
Work hours will be from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
What to expect during this work:
- Intermittent noise to drill and secure the piles
- Traffic revisions with signage and flaggers to direct motorists, cyclers and pedestrians
- Limited truck traffic to and from the site to deliver materials
- Businesses will remain open
