Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crews will be grinding down the surface layer and paving Boyer Avenue E from 24th Avenue E to 26th Avenue E , Thursday, and Friday, October 10-11. During the work, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Boyer Avenue will be closed from 24th to 26th with a detour in place. There will be a uniformed police officers directing traffic at the intersection of 24th and Boyer and northbound on Lake Washington Boulevard at Madison Street to prevent over-height trucks from entering the Arboretum. All crosswalks and sidewalks will remain open.
On Sunday, October 13, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., SDOT crews will return to the worksite to grind down the surface and pave the intersection of 24th Avenue E and E Boyer Street . Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Once again, there will be Police Officers on hand to direct traffic through the work zone. During the work, all crosswalks and sidewalks will remain open.
Motorists should expect and plan on slight delays traveling through the area.
