The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will close a segment of Southwest Orchard Street and Dumar Way Southwest, which runs between Delridge Way Southwest and Southwest Austin Street, to through traffic from August 19 to August 23 to upgrade utilities and restore the roadway. Local access to the area will be maintained. The closure will begin at 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 19, and the street will reopen by 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23.
Traffic intending to travel west on Dumar Way Southwest from 16th Avenue Southwest will be directed to use the following detour (please see attached map):
- South on 16th Avenue Southwest
- West on Southwest Henderson Street
- North on Delridge Way Southwest
Traffic intending to travel east on Southwest Orchard Street to Dumar Way Southwest from Delridge Way Southwest will be directed to use the following detour:
- South on Delridge Way Southwest
- East on Southwest Henderson Street
- North on 16th Avenue Southwest
Lane restrictions currently in effect on Delridge Way Southwest as part of SDOT’s Delridge Way Southwest Paving Project (between Southwest Holden and Southwest Orchard streets) will remain in place until early October. Northbound and southbound traffic will be maintained.
