Starting next Thursday, June 20, Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) will begin construction work on Sand Point Way NE between NE 60th Street and NE 65th Street.
SPU will install a 60-inch diameter casing under Sand Point Way NE. During the work, north bound lanes of Sand Point Way NE between NE 60th Street and NE 64th Street will be closed 24/7 until the end of September. The current southbound lanes will be revised to allow traffic on one lane in each direction during the closure. Sidewalks will remain open with minor detours. Residents and businesses will have access to their driveways and garages. Motorists should expect traffic delays.
In order to expedite the work and minimize traffic and construction impacts to the public, crews will be working from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday. This work is part of the Windermere Sewage Overflow Prevention Project www.seattle.gov/util/WindermereBasin.
