June 1-2 and June 8-9 (weather depending)
Over the first two weekends of June, SDOT crews will install thermal plastic safety markings at driveways and streets that cross the cycle track on Linden Avenue N, between N 128th and N 145th streets. Streets may be temporarily closed but driveway access will be maintained at all times. Installation is scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (weather depending). These green-colored safety markings are designed to increase awareness and visibility of cyclists, and are part of the city’s overall effort to make cycling a comfortable part of everyday life.
In addition to the cycle track, over the next month crews will complete landscaping, and art work installation. Parking restrictions will be in place along the corridor as needed as work progresses.
The cycle track will be complete after this marking work is finished. However, a private development at the intersection of Linden Ave N & N 141st Street will be temporarily blocking the cycle track until early August; pedestrians, cyclists and motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through the work zone.
Construction began June 18, 2012, and the entire project is expected to be completed next month. For more information on the Linden Avenue North Complete Street Project, visit SDOT’s project website, http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/linden.htm or call the project hotline: 206-462-6350
