The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has completed clean-up of slide debris in the 9700 block of Rainier Avenue S between Cornell Street and 57th Avenue S. Rocks and mud debris slid onto Rainier Avenue S at approximately 8 p.m. last night, April 7, requiring a closure of the roadway. Following the removal, SDOT crews set up concrete barriers in the southbound lane to hold back any potential debris from entering the street. SDOT’s Urban Forestry staff has also inspected the trees on the site. The travel lanes on Rainer Avenue have been shifted around the barricaded southbound lane and opened to traffic with one lane southbound and one lane northbound. Bicyclists traveling through the area are also being shifted out of the bike lane and into the vehicle traffic lane past the site.
