March 23 through 30
Beginning Saturday, March 23 the south leg of the intersection of S Jackson Street and 6th Avenue S in the Chinatown/International District will be closed to traffic to facilitate construction of the First Hill Streetcar. The closure will be in place 24 hours per day and will reopen the morning of March 30. Jackson will be open to east- and westbound traffic but southbound turns to 6th Avenue S will not be permitted.
Local access, pedestrian access, and access to businesses will be maintained during this work.
The City of Seattle is developing the First Hill Streetcar in partnership with Sound Transit, with funding provided through the 2008 voter approved Sound Transit 2 (ST2) transit expansion plan. Completion is planned for spring 2014.
