On Saturday, February 23, starting at 8 a.m., the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will remove loose curb and uplifted sidewalk on the east side of Aurora Avenue N approximately 150’ south of N 85thStreet. On Sunday, February 24, the department’s Urban Forestry crews will remove a sweet gum tree which has caused the curb and sidewalk damage. Each day, the two easternmost northbound lanes of Aurora Avenue will be closed during the work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The following weekend, on Saturday, March 2, SDOT crews will form and pave a new curb and sidewalk. While the work is in progress, the two easternmost northbound lanes of Aurora Avenue will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The curb lane only will remain closed from 4 p.m. Saturday, March 2nd until 4 p.m. Sunday, March 3rd to allow the new concrete curb to cure.
Motorists traveling northbound may encounter some congestion and slowing approaching and passing by the work zone.
