This weekend the Seattle Department of Transportation will be reducing lanes and making partial intersection closures at 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street to facilitate construction for the First Hill Streetcar.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 16 and 17 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. the west leg of this intersection will be closed to traffic. North-and southbound traffic on 12th Ave S will be will be able to make all movement through the S Jackson St intersection except westbound turns will be prohibited. Westbound traffic on S Jackson St will be detoured to northbound 12th Ave S. On Saturday night from 7 p.m. until Sunday morning at 7 a.m. the south leg of the intersection will be closed. East- and westbound traffic on S Jackson St will be able to make all movements through the 12th Ave S intersection except southbound turns will be prohibited. Southbound traffic on 12th Ave S will be detoured to westbound S Jackson St.
Police officers and traffic flaggers will be present to assist with these turn movements and to ensure access to businesses and residences in the area.
On Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. east- and westbound through traffic on S Jackson St will be directed to use Fourth Ave S, Seattle Boulevard S, S Dearborn St and Rainier Ave S.
On Saturday night from 7 p.m. until Sunday morning at 7 a.m. southbound through traffic on 12th Ave will be directed to use Boren Ave S, Rainier Ave S and S Dearborn St. Northbound through traffic on 15th Ave S traveling to 12th Ave S will be directed to use S College St, Rainier Ave S and S Jackson St
