Shilshole Avenue Northwest will be temporarily narrowed underneath the Ballard Bridge for several weeks beginning Monday, Feb. 4 as workers add concrete restrainers to the bridge structure to increase its seismic stability.
The roadway will remain open to traffic in both directions with lanes shared by vehicles and bicyclists. Drivers should use caution due to the presence of construction activity.
So far the Ballard Bridge seismic retrofit work, which began last summer, has been done entirely from below the bridge, without either traffic lane or sidewalk closures.
