Sewer line work being done in preparation for construction of the First Hill Streetcar will require the full closure of the intersection of Yesler Way and 12th Avenue South on Monday night, January 28, beginning at 7 p.m. and continuing until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained. Other traffic will be detoured around the closure via Boren Avenue South, East Jefferson Street, 23rd Avenue South, and South Jackson Street.
During these same Monday night/Tuesday morning hours, construction crews will also be working in the intersection of 12th Avenue South and East Fir Street and the intersection of Yesler Way and Broadway. While both intersections will remain open to traffic in both directions during this period, the construction activity will require a temporary shift in the travel lanes.
Tuesday, January 29 from 7 p.m. until Wednesday at 7 a.m., similar construction will require the full closure of the intersection of Yesler Way and Boren Avenue South. Access to local residences and businesses will be maintained. Other traffic will be detoured around the closure via Broadway, East Jefferson Street, 12th Avenue South, South Jackson Street, and 6th Avenue South.
Also during these same hours on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, construction crews will be working in the intersection of Yesler Way and Broadway and the intersection of Yesler Way and 12th Avenue South. While both intersections will remain open to traffic in both directions, the work will require a temporary shift in the travel lanes.
