Spring can’t be far off with the annual ten-day Seattle Boat Show floating into Seattle tomorrow, Friday 25, and the first Mariners’ event of the 2013 baseball season, FAN FEST, happening over the weekend as well. Called the largest boat show on the west coast – indoor and afloat, the recreational watercraft exhibition takes place in CenturyLink Stadium and Chandler Cove Marina on South Lake Union. While the Mariners’ FAN FEST for kids and adults at Safeco Field is a smaller event, it runs concurrently with the Boat Show at CenturyLink, and the resulting combination of the two crowds will likely make for heavy traffic on streets surrounding the two stadiums. The details of the two events are as follows:
Friday, January 25 through Sunday, February 3:
Seattle Boat Show: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays; 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekends
CenturyLink Field and Chandler Cove (901 Fairview Avenue N)
16,000 spread between two locations and over course of the event
There will be free shuttles running every 30 minutes between CenturyLink Field and South Lake Union.
Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27
Mariners’ FAN FEST: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily
Safeco Field
5,000 per day
Seattle Police Officers will direct traffic at Occidental Avenue S and Edgar Martinez Drive to ensure pedestrian safety.
