SEATTLE—Nighttime lane closures for work on the Fourth Avenue South Bridge will begin next week. The northbound, right lane on Fourth Avenue South through the intersection with South Jackson Street, as well as both eastbound and westbound left lanes on South Jackson Street, will be closed nightly beginning Tuesday, Jan. 22. The closures will continue approximately two weeks, from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. each night. Local access, pedestrian access, and access to businesses will be maintained.
The City of Seattle is making seismic retrofit improvements to the bridges around King Street Station. The objective is to maintain service along these key corridors in the event of a major earthquake.
