Drivers who use the Interstate 5 and Interstate 90 express lanes should plan ahead for changes Sunday, Dec. 9.
The I-5 express lanes will remain closed until 10:15 a.m. for the annual Jingle Bell Run and Walk. The lanes will then open to southbound traffic.
To accommodate extra traffic heading into Seattle for the Seahawks game, the I-90 express lanes will be open to westbound traffic from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lanes will close for an hour and reopen to eastbound drivers by 3 p.m.
Drivers can monitor traffic conditions in downtown Seattle this weekend by checking the Seattle traffic map. The map indicates when and in which direction the express lanes are open. Drivers can also check the express lane schedules for both I-5 and I-90, or download the WSDOT mobile app.
