Beginning Saturday, September 29, southbound Broadway will be closed between Pike and Harvard, and Union will be closed between Broadway and Seneca while streetcar tracks are built through the intersection of Broadway and Union. Northbound traffic on Broadway will be maintained. Union will be open on the east leg of the intersection and motorists approaching from the east will be able to turn northbound on Broadway. These closures will begin at 5 a.m. on Saturday, September 29and continue until 5 a.m. Monday, October 1.
Local access, pedestrian access, and access to businesses will be maintained during this work.
This project began in April of this year and is expected to be completed in spring 2014.
The City of Seattle is developing the First Hill Streetcar in partnership with Sound Transit, with funding provided through the 2008 voter approved Sound Transit 2 (ST2) transit expansion plan.
