Paving crews from the Seattle Department of Transportation will repave the section of South Hanford Street between East Marginal Way South and South Colorado Avenue this week. They plan to grind off the old surface on Wednesday, Sept. 26, and install a new asphalt overlay on Sunday, Sept. 30.
Work hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
One lane will remain open in each direction. Drivers should expect congestion in this area of heavy truck traffic, and are advised to use alternate routes when possible.
Also, the crews plan to resurface South Horton Street on Oct. 5 and 12. A separate traffic advisory will be issued for this work as the date approaches.
This work is part of SDOT’s annual paving program funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative.
