The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will complete work this weekend on a sidewalk and roadway paving project mid-block on Third Avenue between Virginia and Lenora streets. This SDOT construction project will promote King County Metro Transit’s RapidRide project which improves transit speed and reliability and supports more convenient and efficient service.
The curb lanes on both sides of Third Avenue will be closed to parking from 6 a.m. Friday, September 21, until 2 a.m. Monday, September 24 in order to provide a safe work zone. On Saturday only, September 22, the construction will block a portion of the east and west sidewalks mid-block between Virginia and Lenora from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. A portion of the sidewalks on both sides of the street will remain open to allow for pedestrian traffic. The bus stop on Third and Virginia will remain open.
