Motorists Need to Plan Ahead to Avoid Delays
The coming weekend is packed once more with sports related events – from the Seattle Boats Afloat Show, the Susan G. Komen Seattle 3-Day Walk for the Cure, and the Row for the Cure, to the University of Washington Huskies vs Portland State and the Seattle Seahawks taking on the Dallas cowboys. If food is your favorite sport, there’s also the popular Mobile Food Rodeo at South Lake Union featuring 45 mobile food vendors on Saturday and there will be cars of every kind filling the streets of the West Seattle Junction on Sunday.
But along with the fun comes the possible traffic congestion associated with the events and construction noted at the end of this schedule. The Seattle Department of Transportation advises motorists to try one of the many alternate modes of transportation available – Metro Transit, the West Seattle Water Taxi, the Sounder commuter train, Link light rail, car pool, bicycle or walk, if feasible.
