The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has begun preparatory work for a sidewalk and roadway paving project mid-block on Third Avenue between Virginia and Lenora streets. The construction project will take place over the next three weekends. In order to provide a safe work zone, parking will be restricted near the construction on both sides of Third Avenue.
Weekend one:
The curb lanes on both sides of Third Avenue will be closed from 6 a.m. tomorrow, September 7, until 2 a.m. Monday, September 10 to allow construction of approximately 40’ of new concrete roadway. The sidewalk on the east side of Third Avenue mid-block north of Virginia will be closed from 6 a.m., Friday, until 10 p.m. Saturday September 8. The bus stop on Third and Virginia will remain open.
Weekend two:
The curb lanes on both sides of Third Avenue will be closed to parking from 6 a.m. Friday, September 14, until 2 a.m. Monday. On Saturday only, September 15, the construction will block a portion of both the west and east sidewalks mid-block between Virginia and Lenora from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. A portion of the sidewalk on both sides of roadway will remain open to allow for pedestrian traffic. The bus stop on Third and Virginia will remain open.
Weekend three:
The curb lanes on both sides of Third Avenue will be closed to parking from 6 a.m. Friday, September 21, until 2 a.m. Monday, September 24. On Saturday only, September 22, the construction will block a portion of the western sidewalk mid-block between Virginia and Lenora from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., pedestrian access will be maintained.
