By this evening (Friday, August 31) SDOT will reopen the eastbound lanes on N 85th Street between Wallingford Avenue N and I-5, and drivers will again have access to the I-5 on-ramp at N 85th Street. The closures were necessary to complete roadway work as part of the N/NW 85th Street Paving Project, and all lanes in this area will be reopened following roadway striping.
Construction continues on N 85th Street between Aurora Avenue N and Wallingford Avenue N, with eastbound traffic detoured to N 80th Street from Greenwood Avenue N to I-5. The entire N/NW 85th Street Paving Project is scheduled to be complete by the end of October. This project is funded by the 2006 Bridging the Gap levy passed by voters, and makes much-needed repairs to the two-mile stretch of N/NW 85th Street between 15th Avenue NW and I-5, and Greenwood Avenue N.
