The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) reminds travelers that Mercer Street is now open to two-way traffic and severe restrictions on Fairview Avenue N and Valley Street have begun. Due to several large events occurring over Labor Day weekend, SDOT encourages drivers to plan ahead and add extra time to reach their destinations.
Bumbershoot traffic use westbound Mercer Street to reach Seattle Center
SDOT advises travelers heading to Bumbershoot to use westbound Mercer Street to reach Seattle Center. Increased signage for Seattle Center will be in place on the I-5 off-ramps beginning Thursday, August 30, indicating that travelers heading to Seattle Center should continue straight onto westbound Mercer Street to reach it.
Detour maps illustrating two-way traffic flow on Mercer Street are available online for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists at www.seattle.gov/Transportation/ppmp_mercer.htm.
Mercer E-mail unavailable due to scheduled partial shutdown of city Data Center
Due to the scheduled partial shutdown of the city Data Center over the Labor Day weekend, the Mercer Corridor Project email address (email@example.com) will not be functional between Friday, August 31, and Monday, September 3. If you have questions about the Mercer Corridor Project during that time, please call the 24-hour construction hotline at 206-419-5818.
