The intersection of 14th Ave S and E Yesler Way will be closed to traffic this weekend to facilitate construction of the First Hill Streetcar. The closure will begin on Friday, August 17th at 6 p.m. and continue until Monday, August 20th at 5 a.m. A detour will be posted utilizing 12th Ave S, Boren Ave S, S Jackson St, 23rd Ave S, and E Jefferson St.
After the weekend closure, the north and southbound lanes of 14th Ave S between E Yesler Way and E Main St will remain closed as they have been all month.
Track construction on E Yesler Way and 14th Avenue S has been scheduled at this time in order to be completed prior to commencement of fall 2012 classes at the adjacent elementary school.
Local access, pedestrian access, and access to businesses will be maintained during this work.
