The Ballard Bridge will be closed between 11 p.m. Saturday, August 11 and 7 a.m. on Sunday, August 12. During the closure, all four vehicle lanes and one sidewalk at a time will be closed to traffic. When one sidewalk is closed, the sidewalk on the opposite side of the bridge will remain available for use. The bridge will operate normally to permit boat traffic underneath.
During this closure, SDOT crews will temporarily relocate the traffic signals on both sides of the bascule (operating) portion of the bridge to enable the replacement of the poles to which they are attached. Another bridge closure is planned in a few weeks for returning the traffic signals to their current position, attached to the replacement poles which will have new LED lights.
