The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) announces the cancelation of the August 10-13 full weekend closure of the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street.
In lieu of a full weekend closure of the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street, Fairview Avenue N will be fully closed between Mercer Street and Republican Street August 10-13.
This less extensive weekend closure accommodates concrete panel replacement in preparation for opening Mercer Street to two-way traffic in late summer or early fall of this year. Traffic coming from the I-5 off-ramps at Mercer Street will be directed north via Valley Street. No access to southbound Fairview Avenue N from the I-5 off-ramps at Mercer Street will be permitted during the closure.
Closure hours will be from Friday at 7:30 p.m. to Monday at 5:00 a.m. Please note the I-5 on- and off-ramps at Mercer Street will remain open at all times.
On Thursday, August 9, crews will conduct preliminary survey work necessary for the weekend Fairview closure. Fairview Avenue N will be fully closed between Mercer and Republican streets the evening of Thursday, August 9, from 7:30 p.m. to Friday at 5:00 a.m. Fairview Avenue N will be fully open during the day on Friday, August 10.
