Southbound Linden Avenue N. Lane Closure Extends to N. 145th StreetSEATTLE – The current detour of southbound traffic on Linden Avenue North from North 135th Street to North 141st Street will be extended to North 145th street starting August 1 as Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crews continue to redevelop Linden Avenue North into a neighborhood-friendly roadway. Linden remains open to northbound traffic.
Construction on Linden began June 18 in the work zone between North 135th and North 141st streets. Work continues in this area as crews complete paving, landscaping and construction of sidewalks. On August 1 the work zone will extend north to 145th Street as crews install storm drainage structures in preparation for the new roadway, curbs, gutters and sidewalks. The section from 135th to 141st is expected to reopen to southbound traffic in early October and the section from North 141st to 145th streets is expected to reopen later that month, when paving is completed. The entire project, located between N128th and N 145th, is scheduled for completion by next summer.
Southbound detour routes are as follows:
- East on North 145th Street; south on Aurora Avenue North; west on North 135th Street to Linden Avenue North
- West on North 145th Street; south on Greenwood Avenue North; and east on North 130th Street to Linden Avenue North
Bicyclists using Linden Avenue North will merge and share the lane with general northbound traffic, or they may want to utilize sidewalks. When traveling through the construction zone, all travelers should use caution, reduce speeds and expect:
- Gravel pathways, grooved pavement and loose asphalt
- Raised utility castings and man holes in the street
- Increased construction truck traffic
