The Union Pacific Railroad expects to complete work early, enabling the eastbound lanes of surface South Spokane Street, between Fourth Avenue South and Sixth Avenue South, to reopen late this afternoon or early this evening. This is well ahead of the earlier announced reopening at 5 a.m. Friday morning. The lanes have been closed since early Wednesday morning.
The closure was needed so that the Union Pacific Railroad could rebuild their crossing at South Spokane Street.
