SDOT paving crews plan to replace the asphalt surface on two stretches of pavement on Rainier Avenue South next week in the far southeast corner of the city, if weather permits.
On Wednesday and Thursday, June 13 and 14, they plan to work on Rainier Avenue South from Ithaca Place South to South Redwing Street. On Friday and Saturday, June 15 and 16, they plan to work from 75th Avenue South to South Ryan Street.
Traffic in both directions will be shifted to one side while the crews pave. Bicyclist will merge with traffic through the work area. The sidewalks will remain open. Drivers should expect congestion and are advised to slow down and use caution in the work area.
This project is part of SDOT’s annual paving program with funds provided by the Bridging the Gap transportation initiative, approved by Seattle voters.
