Crews working on the Seattle Department of Transportation’s (SDOT) project to repave NE Ravenna Boulevard between E Green Lake Drive N and 15th Avenue NE will begin work on westbound NE Ravenna Boulevard between Eighth Avenue NE and 12th Avenue NE on Thursday, April 26.
The crews are scheduled to grind and remove existing pavement in the westbound lanes of NE Ravenna between Eighth Avenue NE and 12th Avenue NE on the Thursday, April 26, and Friday, April 27. Drivers and residents should expect closures in the work zone on those dates as well as weekdays throughout May, from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Crews will close street parking in the work areas during construction, but local access will be maintained. A signed detour will direct drivers and bicyclists around the closure.
In addition to the work including grinding and removing the existing asphalt roadway, areas of the concrete roadway base will be repaired and pedestrian curb ramps will be repaved and upgraded. Project completion is expected by the end of summer, dependant on weather conditions.
To minimize construction impacts, work has been divided into two phases. Phase one is on NE Ravenna Boulevard between Green Lake and I-5 (from E Green Lake Drive N to Eighth Avenue NE). Crews began work on the westbound side of Ravenna in late March. Phase two is from NE Ravenna Boulevard starting at I-5 through 15th Avenue NE (from Eighth Avenue NE to 15th Avenue NE).
