The Seattle Department of Transportation’s paving crews plan to resurface South Myrtle Street from 35th Avenue South to just 200 feet west of 32nd Avenue South on the weekend of February 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. This work requires fair weather and if rain is forecast, the work may be rescheduled.
The crews will pave the full width of South Myrtle Street, leaving one lane in each direction open for traffic. Pedestrian walkways will remain open, and there will be a Police Officer at the intersection of South Myrtle Street and 33rd Avenue South to assist traffic.

South Myrtle Street is an arterial that links Southeast Seattle to Beacon Avenue South and I-5. The pavement on this stretch of Myrtle Street is in poor condition. Resurfacing will improve roadway life, ride quality, and above all, safety for all roadway users—transit, general vehicular traffic, and bicyclists. This work is part of SDOT’s annual arterial street paving program.
