The contractor working to widen the Spokane Street Viaduct will close the structure’s westbound travel lanes just west of I-5 for seven nights beginning tonight, Wednesday, December 14. The closures will occur nightly through Thursday, December 22, with the exception of Saturday and Sunday, December 17-18, when the lanes will remain open.
The closure tonight, and those next Monday through Wednesday, December 19-21, will begin at 9 p.m. each evening and continue until 5 a.m. the next morning. The closures on Thursday, December 15, Friday, December 16, and Thursday, December 22, will begin at 10 p.m. each evening and run until 5 a.m. the following morning.
These closures are needed to prepare for the upcoming shift of westbound traffic off of the existing structure and onto the newly built adjacent structure.
