The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will be paving 51st Avenue South from Rainier Avenue South to South Bangor Street on Wednesday, Nov 2 and Thursday, Nov 3, weather permitting, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On the first day of paving, Nov 2, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction in the work zone and left-turns will be restricted at certain times. On the second day of paving, Nov 3, traffic will be restricted to southbound only. Loading and parking restrictions will be in place near work zones.
There will be short-term driveway restrictions and some pedestrian detours. Access to all businesses will be maintained. Uniformed police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
This project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in November 2006.
