Weather permitting, a contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation will repave Dexter Avenue North between Roy Street and Garfield Street on September 6 and 7. One lane in each direction will be open to traffic during the planned working hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On-street parking and loading will be restricted near the work area. Driveways and side street access may be closed for up to two hours to allow the new pavement time to harden. There will be some pedestrian detours.
Also, Aloha Street between Dexter Avenue North and Aurora SR-99 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. while the contractor paves.
Uniformed police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving.
Shortly after paving is complete, temporary traffic markings and striping will be applied. The Dexter Avenue North Street Improvement Project will be substantially complete by late September.
This project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in 2006.
