Beginning today, August 23, a Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crew will be replacing 35 concrete panels on Wallingford Avenue N between N 80 and N 85th streets.
Given that Bishop Blanchet High School, which is located at N 85th and Wallingford, starts the new school year on Thursday, September 1, the SDOT crew will first replace 17 concrete panels between N 82nd and N85th. During the work, the Wallingford will be closed around the clock. The crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Friday, August 26, when the work is expected to be completed, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Resuming work on Tuesday, August 30, Wallingford will then be closed around the clock between N 82nd to N 80th streets where 18 concrete panels must be replaced. The work is expected to be completed and the street re-opened by Friday, September 2nd, at the latest.
Seattle Police Officers will be directing traffic around the closed streets and Metro Transit service will not be impacted.
