Work expected to begin tonight on Fourth Avenue S will be rescheduled. The planned nightly lane reductions are now expected to begin next week. The contractor working to widen the Spokane Street Viaduct needs to reduce Fourth Avenue S to one lane in each direction in order to paint new steel girders. A traffic advisory will be issued when the new work schedule is confirmed.
Meanwhile, the nightly closures of Sixth Avenue S are no longer needed. Originally scheduled through August 5, the closures are not expected to be needed again for another month.
