The contractor working to widen the Spokane Street Viaduct will reduce Fourth Avenue S to one lane in each direction every night for up to three weeks beginning August 3. The lane reductions on Fourth Avenue S on either side of the S Spokane Street intersection will run from 9 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the next morning – except for event nights, at which time work will start at 11 p.m. The lane closures are needed for the painting of steel girders.
Meanwhile, the overnight closures of Sixth Avenue S will now continue through the morning of August 5. Crews are working from 9 p.m. each day until 5 a.m. the next morning, except on event nights when they will start work at 11 p.m.
