On Wednesday, July 20, The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will begin work on Martin Luther King Way Jr. between E Alder and E Jefferson streets. The crews will be replacing three large panels northbound and four panels southbound. In order to accomplish the work, the northbound right lane, parking lane, and bike lane will be closed along with the southbound parking lane. The travel lanes will be shifted to accommodate one lane of traffic northbound and one lane southbound; the lane restrictions will be in effect around the clock starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Metro Transit will set up a temporary bus zone south of E Alder on the eastside of Martin Luther King Jr Way. Weather allowing, the work should be completed by Monday, July 25th.
