Starting Monday, July 18, North 34th Street in the Fremont neighborhood will again be restricted to one lane in each direction as a contractor for the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) continues work on street improvements. Crews will repair the roadway’s underlying base layer, sidewalk and curbs in preparation for final paving in late July.
There will be parking and loading restrictions in the work zone as well as periodic cross-street and driveway interruptions. Bicyclists will share the lane with motor vehicles, or for alternate bike routes, see the project Web site, http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/pave_n34th.htm.
Drivers should expect increased truck activity, reduced speeds and flaggers periodically stopping traffic. Drivers should use caution and expect some delays.
