The Seattle Department of Transportation is announcing nighttime work on Mercer Street and 9th Avenue North scheduled to begin as early as June 27 and continue intermittently for up to six weeks.
Mercer Street will have up to three lanes closed intermittently overnight near the intersection of Mercer Street and 9th Avenue North. At least one lane will remain open to traffic at all times. This closure accommodates installation of underground water main and storm drainage utilities. Weeknight work hours are from approximately 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
Nighttime lane closures on Mercer Street are being closely coordinated with other construction and special events in the area, including activities at the Seattle Center. Nighttime lane closures will not occur during the holiday weekend of July 1 – July 4.
