A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation will grind and pave two arterials in the Georgetown area, Ellis Avenue South and East Marginal Way South, during the week of June 20th.
East Marginal Way South
Crews will repave East Marginal Way South between Fourth Avenue South and Ellis Avenue South at night from June 20 through June 22, if weather is favorable. Paving is scheduled to take place between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m.
During paving, one lane in each direction will be maintained on East Marginal Way South. There will be nighttime parking and loading zone restrictions near the work zone; periodic cross street, alley and driveway interruptions (two to four hours); and possible lane closures on side streets.
Ellis Avenue South and South Albro Place
On June 23 and 24, the contractor will grind and remove the existing asphalt surface on Ellis Avenue South/South Albro Place between Stanley Avenue South and East Marginal Way South. Asphalt removal is scheduled to take place between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m.
At least one lane in each direction of traffic will be maintained. There will be parking and loading zone restrictions near the work zone as well as short-term cross street, and driveway interruptions.
For both projects, drivers should expect increased truck activity and flaggers periodically stopping traffic. Uniformed police officers will be on site to keep traffic moving. Motorist in the area should reduce speeds, use caution and expect some delays.
