Work for relocating Seattle City Light utilities has moved to the next block on First Avenue, and crews are now breaking pavement between Washington and Main. That will take place periodically over the next 4-5 weeks. Seattle Department of Transportation is restoring pavement in the block between Yesler to Main and may be finished as soon as today (May 13). Beginning this Monday, May 16, City Light plans to also move into the last block between Cherry and Yesler. This block also will take 4-5 weeks.
By working two blocks at a time City Light plans to finish the civil construction phase of this project by mid-June. Working one block at a time would have extended the work to late July.
